Project Compassion Ministries, Inc. and Mario’s Italian Restaurant have partnered together for over 20 years to provide an annual free Christmas dinner to seniors from independent living communities in Detroit.
“We are more than happy to partner with Mario’s Italian Restaurant to support seniors in the community. The annual Christmas dinner is a great way to say thank you to a generation that has lived in the community we serve today,” says Eric Stenson, Executive Director of Project Compassion Ministries. Mario’s donates the food and servers volunteer and Project Compassion Ministries donates the bus service to and from the restaurant. There are two seatings, 12:00 and 1:30 pm, on Christmas day with many happy seniors who would otherwise have spent Christmas day alone. The event is supported by a dedicated group of staff and volunteers from Project Compassion and Mario’s. If you would like to donate, go to our secure online form at www.projectcompassion.net.
